Call me when you can run both IE7 and IE6 on the same computer.

OMG.... I just put IE7 on. Danger Will Robinson! DANGER! *waves arms hysterically and runs round room. Sweeter interface. Buggy. Neat functions *if they work without a CTD. Like 'Deep Heat'... apply with caution! Wash your hands!

It's ok, but let's face it Apple came up with it first! It is much better than the old version and has soime seriously cool functions, but I rather use InDesign CS2...

Initial impression is good. CSS support seems less broken than IE6 was.

In some ways it's good that they're releasing it with a windows update as we mightn't have to wrestle with legacy IE6 for too much longer.

Reserving judgement for now, but my initial impression is that it's at least an improvement.

I agree, autoupdates is a good thing, hopefully critical mass can be reached in a much shorter space of time and we can throw the box model hacks into the bottom drawer forever.
Its also only 15MB, thats pretty impressive for IE.
I'm still using FF though ;)

I heard the install manager is 15 megs. Which then downloads the browser itself (and doesn't tell you how big it is).

You could be right there Subcide. Fooled me, those mischievous Redmond bastards.

Well its been almost 4 weeks since the release (via automatic updates) of Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). 7% of visitors to our client sites are using the new browser version.

It is a slow take up in my mind. Clearly lots of people have automatic updates turned off. The release of vista in January will improve the take up. If you are a developer, be prepared to program for both IE6 and IE7 for some time to come.

I know most of you will hate this but IE7 Rocks! I love it.

IE7 has got its own problems with web standards and CSS support but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Sorry if you have emailed us in the past few weeks/months, with no reply. When you work for an American company you actually have to "work". Hence no time to check FTM emails.
