Applications are invited for the full-time position of Web Designer/Developer within the University's Web Office.
We are looking for a talented designer who is excited about the web and knows how to design and produce websites that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also place emphasis on accessibility and usability. Applicants' portfolios should include a range of quality design solutions.
The appointee will design and develop University websites and, alongside Web Office staff, maintain and further develop the University's corporate website. Duties will include the effective web publication of documents, images and corporate information.
As well as exceptional design skills the appointee will have a sound understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and appropriate web development and image manipulation software. Flash and ActionScript experience would be advantageous.
The successful applicant will also be proactive in remaining aware of contemporary web design trends and emerging web technologies.
The appointee will be able to work independently and meet deadlines without any loss of quality or accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as are effective administration skills. An appropriate University degree or equivalent is desirable.
